Magaluf is situated about 10 miles (16km) west of Palma, the island of Mallorca's capital, has become one of Europe's most popular destinations for young British travellers.

The resort, and its wide sandy beach, is particularly packed during June, July and August with young holidaymakers. During the off-season it is much quieter with many of the wilder entertainment venues closed, and in recent years has been drawing families and maturer travellers during this period.

Magaluf sports hundreds of bars, discos and clubs, and has a wide choice of budget accommodation and restaurants.

The promenade and streets in the centre of Magaluf are lined with dozens of shops selling beachwear, ice creams and souvenirs. Better shopping can be found in Palma, an easy taxi or bus ride away.

It's the fantastic pulsating nightlife that brings holiday-makers to Magaluf, and therefore there is no lack of bright lights after dark. Most start the evening in one of the plethora of bars and move on to dance or theme parties hosted by the world's top DJs in the numerous clubs along the famed Punta Ballena strip. A popular alternative to drinking and clubbing is an evening at the Pirates Adventure theme dinner and show.

Magaluf is home to a fantastic sandy beach, which has been awarded the European Blue Flag for its’ cleanliness and convenient facilities. The beach at Magaluf offers all different kinds of watersports, including scuba-diving, snorkelling, jet-skis, parascending and windsurfing, and frequently plays host to organised games and competitions. Behind the beach you can find numerous lively bars and restaurants.

The beach in Magaluf is over a kilometre long and approx 200 metres out on the water you can see the small island called Sa Porrasa that you can access with a small boat or pedalo.
